The Ins & Outs of Domestic Skip Hire: Everything You Need to Know

The summer is over, so garden renovations are on hold until next year. BUT now it’s time to get back indoors and get on with all those DIY projects which have been put off while you’ve been enjoying the summer sun!
If you’re starting a home renovation project like a new kitchen, or bathroom or decluttering the attic and spare room – then a skip is likely to be on your list of things to arrange before you start that work.
Before you jump online and book the first skip you see, check out our helpful guide to find out all you need to know about domestic skip hire.
What Is Domestic Skip Hire?
Our domestic skips can be used for clearing out your property if you’re preparing to move home, generally decluttering and for small DIY Projects. Our smaller skips are also ideal if you need to dispose of concrete, plastic, wood, and waste from your garden etc.
If you are renovating your home and knocking down walls, building extensions, or fitting a new kitchen or bathroom then our medium-sized skips may be far more cost-effective than having numerous picks and drop-offs of our 4-yard skips.
The main difference between domestic and commercial skips is the sizing. Commercial clients who require skips generally require some of our largest skips. However, for domestic use, our smaller skips are much better suited and far more cost-effective.
Benefits of Domestic Skip Hire
There are lots of benefits of domestic skip hire, for example:

Can My Skip Go On My Property?
If you have a private driveway, then your skip can be delivered directly to your drive. However, it is important to let us know about any accessibility difficulties if you live in a built-up area or on a road where access is restricted. We can plan delivery with you ahead of time.
If you do not have a driveway and your skip needs to be delivered and placed on property that is not owned by you, for example, if the location is owned by the Local Authority/Council or another private owner, then we may require a permit or permission before we are able to deliver your skip. We can arrange this for you. However, it may incur a charge from the Local Authority or Council for a permit.
